Abstract

          This research is a qualitative research. Its aimed to study Thainess characteristics among society expectations for students of Thai higher education institutions. The data were collected by using in-depth interview 15 persons from lecturers and administrators of Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University and Srinakharinwirot University, including Thai arts and culture experts. By purposive sampling and analyzed by using analysis content.

         The research results were found that: 1) Thainess characteristics among society expectations for students of Thai higher education institutions consisted of 3 aspects: conception, conducts and conscious 2) Thainess characteristics among society expectations for students of Thai higher education institutions were effected from 3 factors: strength of family institution, intercultural popularity and evolution of technologies and 3) Situation in each Thai higher education institution still has management about support and enhancement in arts & culture and Thainess, but depends on institution identity and appreciation of administrators.
