Relation of name calling of the food and Thai people’s believe and value of Thai people from 4 sectors

The scope of this qualitative research uses Ethnosemantics concept พันธุ์ (Frake, 1962) from Kingkeaw Atthakorn and Thanarat Sirisawas (1976) and value concept from Phenix (1992). Purposive sampling group in total 24 people from 4 sectors. Using interview and participant observation to collect data. Two methods has been used which are 1) The interview 2) Questionnaire using basic statistic to calculate percentage for interpretation. Then analyst the data into descriptive research.
Objective of the article is to analyze relation between name of the food and values of Thai people in 4 sectors. The result indicates that the name of Thai food influenced by belief which take part in religion. For the belief of Buddhist are “tom praet” and “kai baan tom praet”, folk belief are “kaeng ba non” “yam jin kai sai hau plee” which represent good luck, and “kaeng bon” “kaeng ba fak mon” represent bad luck. Beside that Also reflecting that social value of Thai people are simple lifestyles, love the settlement, harmonious, and religious value which is believed in Buddhist.
These knowledge lead to the understanding of people from 4 sector’s feeling. Either the belief of Buddhist, believe in auspicious, social value, and religious values of Thai people from 4 sectors.
