Abstract

Abstract

     This article aims at analyzing the set of idea and operation of modern nation state building by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, a prominent ideologist and founder of the Republic of Turkey. His ideology is employed to describe the building of the Republic of Turkey as a secular state as well as Turkish nationalism with a focus on identity, culture and language. This article offers analysis on path and factors led to successful nation building as well as resistance by the old Ottoman-Arab conservatives that impact on the success and instability within political and governance system of The Turkey Republic latter on.. The study analysis shows highlights differences in the concepts of ethnicity, identity, culture and languages adopted by the Turks, the Arab Muslims. However, major problem is the stand on conflict between the two ideologies are not subsided. So the alternative solutions are of bringing identity, culture, languages, as well as Nationalism and Muslim conservatives to integrate with each other in order to build peaceful and developed Turkish Nation.
