Safety management from crime: against properties of students living in dormitories in Salaya district, Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

The research “Safety management from crime: against properties of students living in dormitories in Salaya district, Nakhon Pathom Province.” Have the purposes to 1) Study about self-prevention from crimes related to properties of students living in dormitories in Salaya District, Nakorn Pathom and 2) to study ways to prevent vehicle burglary crimes in the dormitories area in Salaya District, Nakorn Pathom. The tool used in this study was questionnaire by accidental sampling while the analysis was done by using statistics, such as Mean or Standard Deviation, to test out the hypothesis of the study. Descriptive statistics,   t-test and One-way ANOVA, were used to test for the differences between the variable and dependent factors.

          The results of this study were found that 1) Self-prevention from crimes against properties is moderate overall: on scrutinizing each preventive item, the highest mean was yielded on “Locking and Bolting Doors and Windows”, seconded by “Remembering the Characteristics of All the Valuables in Room”, while held lowest mean on the item “Checking for the Door’s Peephole before Opening”, and 2) self-prevention from vehicle burglary crimes is moderate amongst the samples; on scrutinizing each preventive item, the highest mean was yielded on “Not Parking Vehicles on the Street, seconded by “Not Parking in Desolate or Out-of-Sight Spot”, whereas held lowest mean by the item “Checking Vehicle before Traveling”
