พัฒนาการและลักษณะเด่นของวรรณกรรมจีนโพ้น ทะเลในประเทศไทย

บทคัดย่อ

บทความนี้มุ่งศึกษาพัฒนาการและลักษณะเด่นของวรรณกรรมจีนโพ้นทะเลในประเทศไทย จากการศึกษาพบว่า วรรณกรรมดังกล่าวได้เริ่มปรากฏครั้งแรกประมาณปลายทศวรรษที่ 20 มีพัฒนาการในด้านรูปแบบจากกวีนิพนธ์ นวนิยาย ไปสู่บทประพันธ์ร้อยแก้วส่วนพัฒนาการในด้านเนื้อหา ในยุคแรกๆ จะเป็นการนำเสนอภาพเกี่ยวกับเหตุการณ์บ้านเมืองปรากฏการณ์ทางสังคม ตลอดจนความรู้สึกนึกคิด ความอาลัยอาวรณ์ในดินแดนมาตุภูมิ(จีน)ต่อมาจึงเริ่มพัฒนาไปสู่การเขียนแนวสัจนิยม กล่าวคือมุ่งสะท้อนภาพชีวิตของผู้คนและปรากฏการณ์ทางสังคมที่เกิดขึ้นจริงในแผ่นดินไทย ซึ่งพัฒนาการทั้งสองด้านจะได้รับอิทธิพลลึกซึ้งจากกระแสวรรณกรรมสมัยใหม่ในจีนแผ่นดินใหญ่ ส่วนลักษณะเด่นของวรรณกรรมจีนโพ้นทะเลในประเทศไทยนั้น พบว่าวรรณกรรมดังกล่าวมีลักษณะเด่นที่สำคัญ 6 ประการ คือ การนำเสนอแนวคิดสัจนิยมผ่านงานเขียนสะท้อนสังคม การพรรณนาถึงความรักความผูกพันต่อดินแดนมาตุภูมิ การถ่ายทอดวัฒนธรรมและปรัชญาจีนโบราณ การแฝงหลักธรรมทางพุทธศาสนาเป็นคติสอนใจ การสร้างสีสันงานเขียนด้วยคำศัพท์และสำนวนจีนแต้จิ๋ว และการใช้แม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาเป็นสื่อถ่ายทอดอารมณ์ความรู้สึก ซึ่งลักษณะเด่นข้างต้นนั้นเป็นภาพสะท้อนที่เด่นชัดของการผสมผสานระหว่างวัฒนธรรมจีนและวัฒนธรรมไทย

Development and Characteristics of Overseas Chinese Literatures in Thailand

This article aimed to explore the development and characteristics of Overseas Chinese literature in Thailand. It was discovered that this kind of literature first appeared towards the end of the 20th century. The development of form was from poetry to novel to prose writing. As for the development of content, during the early stage Overseas Chinese literature was the presentation of images about historical events, social phenomena, as well as perception of and nostalgia for the motherland(China). Then the content shifted to the realistic genre, that is, the intention was to reflect the lives of the people and social phenomena as they really were in Thailand. The two aspects of development were deeply influenced by the modern literary trend in Mainland China. On the characteristics of Overseas Chinese literature in Thailand, there are 6 major characteristics, namely, the presentation of realistic themes through literary works that reflect society, description of the love for and ties to the motherland, transmission of Ancient Chinese culture and philosophy, intimation of Buddhist precepts and beliefs as morals, adding color with Teochiu vocabularies and idioms, as well as the use of Chao Phraya River as a medium for the conveyance of sentiments. These characteristics are a distinct reflection of the blend of Chinese and Thai cultures.
