การศึกษาเปรียบเทียบความหมายของสำนวน 「～なければならない」ในภาษาญี่ปุ่น กับคำว่า“ต้อง”ในภาษาไทย

บทคัดย่อ

งานวิจัยเรื่องนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบสำนวน「～なければならない」กับคำว่า“ต้อง” ในภาษาไทยว่ามีความเหมือนหรือความต่างทางความหมายอย่างไร การศึกษาครั้งนี้ใช้ตัวอย่างประโยคที่คัดเลือกมาจากแหล่งข้อมูลประเภทนิยายฉบับภาษาญี่ปุ่นและภาษาไทยผลการศึกษาพบว่า สำนวน「～なければならない」ปรากฏการใช้ได้ 3 ความหมาย คือ 1) แสดงหน้าที่และความจำเป็น 2) แสดงสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นแน่นอนหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ 3) แสดงการคาดคะเนตามหลักเหตุผล ส่วน “ต้อง” ปรากฏการใช้ได้ 3 ความหมาย คือ 1) แสดงหน้าที่หรือความจำเป็น 2) แสดงสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นแน่นอนหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ 3) แสดงการคาดคะเนตามหลักเหตุผลและแสดงการคาดคะเนจากความคิดเห็นหรือความรู้สึกส่วนตัวของผู้พูดจากการเปรียบเทียบความหมายพบว่า “ต้อง” มีความหมายและขอบเขตการใช้ที่กว้างกว่าสำนวน「～なければならない」กล่าวคือ ในความหมายที่ 1) 2) ของคำว่า “ต้อง” สามารถใช้สำนวน「～なければならない」แทนได้ แต่ความหมายที่ 3) นั้น ใช้แทนกันได้กรณีที่เป็นการคาดคะเนตามหลักเหตุผลแต่กรณีที่เป็นการคาดคะเนตามความคิดเห็นหรือความรู้สึกส่วนตัวของผู้พูดจะไม่สามารถใช้สำนวน「～なければならない」แทนได้จำเป็นต้องใช้สำนวนอื่นแทนจึงจะเหมาะสมกว่าในส่วนของการเทียบเคียงระหว่างสองภาษาพบว่า มีการใช้ภาษาไทยคำอื่นนอกเหนือจากคำว่า“ต้อง” ในการแปลสำนวน「～なければならない」และมีการใช้สำ นวน「～なければならない」ในการแปลคำ อื่นที่ไม่ใช่“ต้อง” ด้วยเช่นกัน ทั้งนี้อาจกล่าวได้ว่าการแทนที่หรือการแปลไปเป็นอีกภาษาหนึ่งมักไม่มีคำแปลที่ตายตัว ขึ้นอยู่กับตัวผู้แปลว่าจะตีความและเลือกใช้สำนวนใดที่คิดว่าเหมาะสมที่สุดเพื่อสื่อความหมายในบริบทนั้นๆ

This research thesis aims to compare the use of ~nakerebanaranai and tong. For the analysis of the meaning of the expression ~nakerebanaranai, the sample sentences were taken from Japanese fictions while those of tongexpression were taken from Thai fictions. The findings of the study resulted in the word ~nakerebanaranai appearing in three meanings: 1) to indicate obligation and necessity, 2) to illustrate an unavoidable occurrence, and 3) to indicate expectations based on logical or evidential reasons. The word tong, exists in three meanings: 1) to show obligation and necessity, 2) to illustrate an unavoidable occurrence, and 3) to indicate expectations based on logical reasons or the individual reasons or feelings on the part of the speaker. In comparing the two words, it was found that the word tongwas used in a broader meaning and scope than ~nakerebanaranai. The word ~nakerebanaranai can be substituted for the word tong in the first and second. However, it in the case of the third meaning, it should only be used to indicate expectations based on logical reasons and not personal feelings. In the latter case, another more appropriate word should be used instead. In comparing the use of two words in the Japanese and Thai languages, other word in Thai were found to be used rather than the wordtongto substitute for the word ~nakerebanaranaiand vice versa in translation. It is therefore reasonable to conclude that there are no fixed words in substitution or translation here from one language to another. The words or expressions used depend upon the translators who interpret and select them and consider them to be appropriate for the messages that they want to send to the audience in a particular context.
