บทคัดย่อ

ชนเผ่ากะตู้ หรือ ที่เรียกตนเองว่า “ กันตู้ ” เป็นชนเผ่าลาวเทิงกลุ่ม ใหญ่กลุ่มหนึ่งมีถิ่นอาศัยอยู่ในเขตลาวตอนใต้ และประเทศเวียดนาม ลาวเทิงใน แต่ละเผ่าพันธุ์ ส่วนใหญ่แล้วจะมีวิถีการดำเนินชีวิต ประเพณี พิธีกรรมและความ เชื่อที่มีลักษณะคล้ายคลึงกันมาก รวมถึง “การจกสาว” ประเพณีที่สะท้อนถึง พฤติกรรมการแสดงออกด้านความรักซึ่งเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของวัฒนธรรมการครอง เรือน โดยใช้เครื่องดนตรีเป็นสื่อแทนการสนทนาที่มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตน คนกะตู้ เรียกว่า “มาม” หรือที่ภาษาลาวลุ่มและไทย เรียกว่า “ปี่” เป็นเครื่องดนตรี ประเภทลิ้นอิสระ (Free reed) ตระกูลที่เสียงเกิดจากการสั่นสะเทือนของอากาศ (Aerophone) ที่ประดิษฐ์จากไม้ไผ่ซาง โดยมีส่วนประกอบที่สำคัญ ๆ อยู่ 3 ส่วน คือ ตัวเลา รูนิ้ว และลิ้น ซึ่งมีขนาดที่แตกต่างกันไป ตามลักษณะการใช้งานและ การประดิษฐ์ที่เป็นปัจเจกบุคคล บทเพลงมามจะเป็นบทเพลงสั้น ๆ ตามประโยค การสนทนาเป็นคำกลอนที่หมายรู้กันเฉพาะกลุ่มคน โดยสื่อความหมายผ่านเสียงมามเป็นภาษาถิ่น เพื่อการเกี้ยวพาราสีบอกความในใจระหว่างหนุ่ม-สาว เป็นการ สร้างความสัมพันธ์ไมตรีก่อนใช้ชีวิตคู่ร่วมกันKatu ethnic group, or Kantu in their language, is one of the big highland ethnic groups in the Southern Laos and Central Vietnam. Each group of Lao Thueng or Lao highlanders practices similar traditions, rituals, and beliefs, including Cok Sao or flirting girl tradition. Cok Sao reflects an expression of love which represents the first step of family formation by using a musical instrument as a means of conversation showing their cultural identity. “Mam” in Katu Language or “Pi” in Thai and Lao languages is the kind of free reed aerophone made of local bamboo called Sang. This kind of free reed instrument is composed of 3 parts: body, holes, and reed. The size of Mam is various; it depends on the usage and on individual creation. Mam songs are short like sentences in Mam conversation or poems being comprehensible between the interlocutors. The songs can reveal their feelings between flirters. It is a musical culture of building relations before marriage.
