Abstract

Purpose of the study: To develop the ontology Isan Folk Performing Arts.

Methodology: Research and Development by applying the development methodology of Domain Ontology of Ushold & King (1995) as a framework for development.

Main Findings: The Study and development ontology of Isan folk performance consists of 9 main classes which are 1) Isan Folk Performing 2) Name of Isan folk performance 3) Background of Isan folk performance 4) Style of Isan folk performance 5) The Story of Isan folk performance 6) Music of Isan folk performance 7) Performer 8) Performance Equipment 9) Dance postures. The Isan Folk Performing Class is a class that connects all 9 classes to display knowledge related to Isan dance in each dance set.

Applications of this study: Scope of knowledge of Isan folk performance that was introduced into a knowledge management system and developed into an ontology can be utilized to develop the semantic retrieval system of knowledge of Isan folk performing arts Which is a preservation of the heritage and local knowledge.
