Development of Digital Collections to Disseminate the Memory of Rajdamnern Community Nakhon Si Thammarat

Purpose of the study: This study aims at: 1) analysing the content, and identifying the memory of Rajdamnern community, 2) designing and developing a digital collection of the memories for online dissemination using Drupal, and 3) evaluating users’ satisfaction on the memories’ dissemination and link to social media.
Methodology: The study applies Research and Development approach with three stages: 1) in-depth interviews about memories spaces and content analysis were utilised for identifying the requirement of the memories, 2) Drupal was used to design and development of digital collections and to link to social network. Finally, 3) survey was used to study user’s satisfaction of the collection and online dissemination.
Main Findings: The study revealed three major results: 1) Rajdamnern community memories were classified into six categories (space & locations, events and activities, festivals, tradition and ceremonies, persons, customs, and objects), 2) the digital collection comprises of four functions (access to memories, access methods, mobile devices access, and the communication linkage, 3) users satisfied most with Facebook connection ( = 4.60), the overall of system functions, and the system usability were satisfied at 4.25 and 3.83 respectively.
Applications of this study: This study can be useful for the local community in Nakhon Si Thammarat area as well other related organizations to collect, organize, and disseminate memories of local community as learning resources.
