As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The author confirms that the original unpublished article has been submitted. It should also not be under review by other journals.
  • The format of the manuscript must follow the guideline and template for preparing the original article and strictly conform to the JIS’ format. Any manuscript that does not conform to the specified format and requirements may be desk rejected.
  • The article must be written in Microsoft Word using a defined font of Browallia New.
  • The author should prepare their manuscript according to the guidelines in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition). Where available, DOIs or URLs should be provided for the references.
  • The author certifies that the submitted manuscript is the work of the author and the co-authors (if any) according to the names specified in the article. All authors agree to publish this article in the JIS. The name(s) of the author(s) and everyone's email address must be provided in the post-submission metadata in the system.
  • The author provides the contact address and phone number in the text box to the editor.
  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism and AI-generated content checking. Manuscripts with more than 20% similarity or more than 30% AI-generated text will be rejected.

1. Preparation of Manuscripts

     1.1 Article specifications

          1.1.1 An article must conform to the aim and scope of the journal. It must fall under one of the following disciplines: humanities and social sciences, education, economics, or business administration and management.

          1.1.2 The article can be written either in Thai or English. If written in Thai, it must include an English-translated abstract. If written in English, it must be proofread by a native speaker before submission. Articles containing incorrect or inappropriate use of language may be desk rejected. 

          1.1.3 It must be written in Microsoft Word using a defined font of Browallia New.

          1.1.4 It may be between 10 and 15 pages, using A4 paper size.

          1.1.5 It must provide an abstract of no longer than 250 words both in Thai and English and include between three and five keywords.

          1.1.6 The author's name and surname, highest degree, academic title (if applicable), institution, and email address must be included.

 

     1.2 Page Layout Setting

          1.2.1 A4 paper size must be corresponded.

          1.2.2 Single space must be used.

          1.2.3 Upper and lower margins must be 2.54 centimeters or 1 inch.  Left and right margins must be 1.78 centimeters or 0.7 inch.

 

     1.3 Font Style

     The article must be written in Microsoft Word using a defined font of Browallia New.

     1.4 Citations

          1.4.1 Author-date in-text citation must be placed within or after the sentence thereof that the citation supports, which includes the author’s name and year of publication. For example:

          Oznur and Ozgur (2022) noted that ...

          ... (Oznur & Ozgur, 2022) …

          1.4.2 APA (American Psychological Association, 7th Edition) must be applied, which is accompanied by a full, alphabetized list of citations in an end section, usually titled “References” in English.  For example:

2.  Submission

3. Revision Fee

     3.1 The revision fee is required for manuscripts that have been accepted through the initial review. Payment details are as follows:

          3.1.1 No submission fee for authors who are affiliated with the Faculty of International Studies, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus (if they are the first author or a corresponding author)

          3.1.2 3,500 THB (article in Thai)/ 6,000 THB (article in English) revision fee for those who are either affiliated with or outside Prince of Songkla University.

     3.2 Payment of the publication fee shall be made via bank transfer after the Editorial Board has accepted the manuscript and completed the preliminary review.

Remarks: Payment of the revision fee does not guarantee publication of an article.  Each article must be reviewed by reviewers and the Editorial Board. Results will be informed after the peer-review process. There will be no refund regardless of the results.

4. Review Process

     4.1 Submitted manuscripts will be initially reviewed by the editorial board.

     4.2 They will then be reviewed and considered by at least three academics in related fields. This is a double-blind peer review process. The reviewers are selected from specialists working across different educational institutions.
