Integrated Learning Management with Local Wisdom in Nakhon Sawan Folk Music

Abstract

        The objectives of this research were 1) to explore local wisdom in Nakhon Sawan folk music, and 2) to present guidelines for integrated learning management with local folk wisdom in Nakhon Sawan folk music. The qualitative method was utilized together with ethnomusicological methods as the study guidelines.  The sample who was purposively selected consisted of 20 informants. An interview was conducted with local philosophers in Nakhon Sawan folk music, and a focus group discussion was carried out with teachers, educational personnel, local sages, and students. The results revealed that 1) the local wisdom in Nakhon Sawan folk music that still exists and is inherited includes long drums and folk songs. The nature of the song is the one with brief lyrics to perform. It is an interactive song with no narrative connection. Moreover, the song lyrics are a reflection of people's manner of life during that time period. 2) The guidelines for integrated learning management must design and organize activities centered on the student. It offers students the chance to combine data or information with conceptual principles. It also makes learning relevant and applicable to the actual world. In addition, it is to preserve the local wisdom heritage of folk music to remain with dignity and appropriateness.
