Abstract

           This article aimed to analyze the dynamics and function of 3,000 - year prehistoric museum of Wat Pa Phra Sabai by using Qualitative research method. The data were collected from the key informants by individual and group interviews, and descriptive analysis was also made by applying the concept of dynamics and functionalism.


        The results of social dynamics research found that the museum consists of physical and mental dynamics. Physical dynamics is a development of the site and administration improvement, and mental dynamics is a connection between museums and beliefs of the ancestor spirits as a community tradition. Regarding the roles, it was found that the important roles of museum were 1) defining regulations to conduct the community ancient objects, 2) instructing people mind shaping in the community, 3) training about beliefs and ritual, and 4) serving as a local history learning resource.
