The Dominant Feature as Appeared in Lam Mahachat Written by Sor.Thamphakdee’s Version and Inta Kaweewong’s Version

Abstract

This article is objectives to study and compare the dominant feature


as appeared in Lam Mahachat written by Sor.Thamphakdee’s version and Inta  Kaweewong’s version. Data in this study was collected from Klon Lam texts of Lam Mahachat totally 18 chapters of each Lam Mahachat. It was found that Klon Lam texts of Lam Mahachat in both versions have the dominant feature in various areas namely; 1) Presentation form of Sor.Thamphakdee’s version is written on palm leaves, but Inta  Kaweewong’s version is published as a book. 2) The content of Klon Lam texts of both Mahachat is derived from the same source; The Vessantara Jataka from Mahanibat Jataka, meanwhile Inta  Kaweewong’s version added more details from another edition and writing style was similar to the modern times 3) Regarding the language use, many words in the form of Pali as the original were written in Sor.Thamphakdee’s version according to the verses form called Gatha and the old language was used as well, but writing and spelling words according to standard Thai characters in order to be easy to read and with new language expressions were employed in Inta  Kaweewong’s version because it was composed after Sor.Thamphakdee’s version and it created its uniqueness in order to make a different thing from Sor.Thamphakdee’s version.
