A Study of Collaborative Leadership of Administrators Affecting the Operation of Government Basic Education Schools

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the collaborative leadership of administrators of government basic education schools under the Ministry of Education and Sports, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, to study the operation of government basic education schools, and to investigate the collaborative leadership of administrators affecting the operation of government basic education schools. The population consisted of 8,060 administrators, teachers, and educational personnel in primary and lower secondary schools in the academic year 2017. The samples were composed of 427 people. The research results revealed that the cooperative leadership of school administrators was overall at a high level. The overall operation of government basic education schools in the Lao People's Democratic Republic was overall at a high level. Cooperative leadership variables combined with five variables could predict the performance of schools by 74.1 percent. Moreover, administration of different people with good governance could predict the operation of the school at the highest level. This was followed by vision possession, relationships building, participation, acknowledgement of the value of various stakeholders, and ingenuity in decision making to solve problems, respectively.
