The Influence of Perception about Supervisor’s Leadership Styles on Employee Engagement of Supporting Staff in Thai University:

Abstract
This research aims to study the influence of perception about supervisor’s leadership styles on employee engagement and to compare the employee engagement level of supporting staff in Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus. This was categorized according to supervisor’s personal factors: sex, age and years of experience working with supporting staff. The 465 stratified random samples were Kasetsart University’s supporting staff. Data were collected by the questionnaires, and statistical data analysis techniques were Multiple Regression Analysis, t-test and One-Way ANOVA. The findings indicated that transformational leadership had the influence on the overall employee engagement, including the aspects of acceptance of a target, vision, and value, and a desire to maintain organizational membership, at 0.01 level of significance. In addition, transformational leadership and laissez-faire leadership had influence the aspect of striving for the success of organizations at the significance levels of 0.01 and 0.05, respectively. Besides, supporting staff with different years of experience working with current supervisors had a different level of overall employee engagement.
