A case study of Tambon Thamenchai, Lamplaimat District, Buriram Province was conducted. The questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting data. The results showed that the democratic political culture of the rural communities in Thamenchai Sub-district, Lamplaimat District, Buriram Province was overall at a high level. The factors affecting the democratic political culture of Thai rural communities included occupation, income, political party membership, and education level. The following recommendations were made: 1) A learning network of Thai political culture should be created. 2) The potential of individuals and communities should be developed as the democratic models. 3) The roles of four main sectors i.e., government, communities, temples, and institutes should be driven. 4) Democratic political culture based on both social and cultural capitals of communities should be enhanced at all levels. And 5) the roles of the governments should be changed with a focus on supporting and promoting the roles of people in policy-making for democratic development.
