Communication Model on Metaverse for Education at Communication Arts under Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University

Abstract

      This article examined how communication on Metaverse can meet the needs of data connectivity and the creation of a unique experience for teaching and learning in Communication Arts in the form of a virtual world. The research objectives were 1) to analyze the instructional content, 2) to study the appropriate model for Metaverse communication, and 3) to investigate the approaches of Metaverse communication. The in-depth interview was used as a research tool in this qualitative research. Ten key informants, including five program chairs and five program members, were interviewed. The research results revealed that 1) the content taught in Communication Arts consisted of the courses instructed to create communication artists in the digital age, to equip them with knowledge and understanding of concepts, theories, principles, innovation creation, strategic communication, and theory and advanced research. 2) The model suitable for communication through the metaverse consisted of self-expression, technology, atmosphere and environment, emotions and feelings, learning, networking, interaction, and participation. 3) The approaches of Metaverse communication were composed of attractive classroom design, learning communication, and creating fun learning materials.
