Abstract

This research aimed to study 1) the history and work of Mr. Nakon Thaemmee and 2) the production process of Pi - mon by Mr. Nakon Thaemmee. The study was found that Mr. Nakon Thaemmee is now 54 years old. He was born on June 7th, 1964 at Nongsala, Cha-am, Phetchaburi. His parents are Mr. Chalo and Mrs. Sanom. He married Mrs. Thanyarat and has three children together. He serves in the military as a Chief Petty Officer First Class of the Royal Thai Navy Music Division. In 1989, he learned to produce a Klui form Mr. Charin Klinbuppha., beginning as an apprentice and becoming a professional later. After that, he began to study Pi production.  


Pi - mon production process of Mr. Nakhon Thaemmee consisted of four times of woodturning: bark turning, turning for sound hole drilling, turning for shaping and turning for finishing up (Look-Kaew). Four times of center finding are needed to prevent wood warping. There are also two sound adjustment steps: the first to adjust the volume and the second to adjust sound details. As a quality warranty, a Pi-mon can be returned for repair if there is any defect.
