Assessment of the Value of Creative Tourism Resources of Ethnic Group in Srisaket Province

Abstract

This purpose of research was to assess the value of creative tourism resources of ethnic group in Srisaket Province. The research’s methodology is both qualitative method and quantitative method. 1) The quantitative research method, the sample consisted of 400 residents in 4 ethnic groups: Lao, Suay, Yher, and Khmer. The sample size for the residents was calculated based on Yamane by using the questionnaires with the reliability value at 0.77.The quantitative data were analyzed with  percentage, mean score, standard deviation, 2) The qualitative research method, 8 local cultural experts were purposively selected to in-depth interview. The collected data was analyzed content analysis.


This research was found that the important criteria and indicator of the tourism resource were studied into 5 domains  that composed of historic site, aesthetic site, community site, education site and  economic site.The result of assessment of the identity of creative tourism resources of ethnic group in Srisaket Province, the community was most importance value, and consecutively importance was aesthetic, historic, education, community and economic.  When considering the individual aspect of values assessment of each ethnic group, it found each group differently  priorities perspectives of their own cultural values, in that Yer ethnic gave the highest priority on community values, while Khmer, Suay , Lao paid more attentions on educational values, aesthetical values and Social values, respectively.
