Postmodern Perspective in the Principle of Participation

Abstract
This research aims to find out an answer to the question, " how will participation based on
the perspective of the postmodern philosophy be?" and the findings of the research show that the
participation based on the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy,
principles of cooperation as well as good governance principles used to solve corruption and those
used in private sectors are all derived from the basis of the postmodernism. All of these principles
have a common goal of improving the quality of life of people in the nation. Moreover, they focus
on the participation of people from all walks of life that aims to develop an understanding, love,
accessibility, and harmony among these people which in turn lead them to enjoy a better quality of
life and work together to develop the nation. These principles also emphasize the cultivation of
ethics and taking care of each other through the power of creativity, adjustment, cooperation, and
discovering with the aim to continuously improve the quality of life using intellectual instinct and
proper consideration. In summary, these principles are beneficial in terms that they can help
develop people and their work performance as well as develop the nation sustainably.
The researcher suggested that future research should focus on the issues of: 1)
participation based the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s working principles; 2) participation
according to the perspective of good governance principles and philosophy; and 3) participation
based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.
