The Development of Mobile Application for Free Independent Traveler Promotion of Patung Sub-district, Maechan District, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to survey tourism routes and contents existed in Patung Sub-district, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province, to develop mobile application guiding the tourism routes in Patung Sub-district, and to evaluate the users’ satisfaction towards using mobile application guiding the tourism routes in Patung Sub-district. The study recruited 30 samples that involved entrepreneurs, community leaders, and residents of Patung Sub-district.
The needs analysis on content for the mobile application indicated that the mobile application should contain 7 tourism spots, that is, (1) Akha Mudhouse Homestay (2) Wat Muang Moon Boon Ruang Ki Ri (3) Chantraram Temple (4) Ban Lao Fu Shops/Products (Khun Sumalee) (5) Huai Kang Pla Waterfall Forest Park (6) Ban Lorcha Hilltribe Museum (7) Patung Hot Spring. Moreover, the mobile application should contain 11 lists: (1) History/additional information, (2) Working Hours, (3) Location, (4) Contact Tel., (5) Website, (6) Service Charges, (7) For More Information, (8) Picture, (9) Distance to the tourism spots, (10) Distance among the tourism spots, And (11) With three Languages (Thai, Chinese and English).
The quality evaluation results of the mobile application for free independent traveler Promotion of Patung Sub-district. showed that, in overall, the satisfaction assessment on the mobile application, in overall, was found at the high level ( = 4.43, S.D. = 0.71).
