Creation of Thai Contemporary Dance Thai Reflecting Thai Soiety thorugh The Performance of “Contemporary Visuality of Thai Philosophy of Life”

Abstract

This dissertation on a creation of Thai contemporary dance reflecting Thai social context through a series of performance on “Contemporary Visuality of Thai Philosophy of Life” in order to study and analyze a model and concept in the creation of Thai contemporary dance. This study is a qualitative research grounded in the collection of interviews with artistic scholars and people involved in the performing arts, academic documents in the field and the conclusion in analytical writing. The study found this series of performance shine as a prime example of the contemporary performing arts of high values as it expressed Thai identity in the international arena. It also found some creative work full with the values reflecting in an artistic principle in every form of its manifestation.  However, this series of performance upholds the values of contemporary Thai dance based on the academic principle.  This new creative art form inspired from cultural roots and the pattern of its expression in the performance synthesized with Thai and western rhythmic choreography will benefit the study of Thai cultural art work and contemporary dance as set in the objective.
