Supervision Strategies for Teacher Development of Small-Sized

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the supervision strategies for developing the teachers of the small-sized schools under the Secondary Education Service Area Office 28. The research has been divided into three phases. The target group of the first phase consisted of three directors, three teachers and three education supervisors. The target group of the second phase was composed of 14 experts in education supervision. And the target group of the third phase consisted of nine experts in evaluation. The research tools were interview form, questionnaire, and evaluation form. The research findings revealed that the supervision strategies for developing the teachers of the small-sized schools consisted of vision: supervision system in line with teacher professional standards, mission: making supervision plans, strategic item: teachers with supervision efficiency, and nine strategies: 1) making supervision plan in a short and long terms, 2) development of teachers for being a supervisor, 3) teachers developing themselves based on professional standards, 4) teachers with English and information technology abilities, 5) teachers using curricular effectively, 6) teaching conducting action research, 7) teachers using media and information technology, 8) creation of attitudes towards teacher profession, and 9) establishment of morale and support regularly. The appropriateness, possibility and utilization of these strategies was found at the highest level in all aspects.
