Factors Affecting Stress of Employees in Rayong Industrial Estate

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study employee stress in the industrial estates in Rayong Province, and 2) to compare employee stress in the industrial estates in Rayong Province. The subjects were classified by personal status. The population used in the study were 583,242 employees with the sample size of 400 respondents working in the industrial estates in Rayong Province. Multi-stage sampling and simple random sampling were implemented.

The findings of this research revealed that 200 of the respondents were male, and the other 200 of the respondents were female. Most respondents were between 36 and 45 years of age, single, and at practitioner level with monthly income of 20,000–40,000 baht and ≤ 48 working hours. Most of them didn’t have a medical condition and exercise.

The results of data analysis showed that the overall opinions on employee stress in the industrial estates in Rayong Province were at an average level.

The results of comparison of factors affecting employee stress in the industrial estates in Rayong Province classified by personal status of gender and working hours showed that the overall opinions on employee stress in the industrial estates in Rayong Province were at statistical significance level of 0.05.

The results of comparison of factors affecting employee stress in the industrial estates in Rayong Province classified by personal status of age showed that the overall opinions on employee stress were different. Whereas, the results of comparison of factors affecting employee stress in the industrial estates in Rayong Province classified by personal status of marital status showed that the overall opinions on employee stress were at statistical significance level of 0.05.
