Factors Influencing Accountant’s Performance for company in Industrial Estate in Rayong Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the factors influencing the accountant’s performance of companies in the Industrial Estate in Rayong province and 2) compare factors influencing accountant’s performance classified by gender, status, age, education, period of business operation, and employee quantity. The quantitative data were obtained from 222 accountant employees, who are employed in the Industrial Estate in Rayong. This research collected data through questionnaires. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and analyzed the mean difference by t-test and One-Way ANOVA. The statistical significance of this research was set at 0.05.

The result of the research showed that most of the respondents were female, single, aged below or equal to 30 years old, bachelor’s degree, the duration of business operation less than 5 years, and the employee quantities 1-50 employees. The employees had the overall level of opinion about factors influencing accountant performance for the company in the Industrial Estate in Rayong province in the high level. When classified each dimension, respondents had opinion level in practice and duties academic skills dimension, individual character skills dimension, interpersonal and communication skills dimension, and experience skills dimension in the high level all 4 aspects. The result of the comparison of the differences in factors influencing accountants’ performance was classified by gender and age. It was found that no difference in gender and age of employees about factors influencing accountant performance for the company in Industrial Estate in Rayong province at the 0.05 level.
