Abstract

The aims of study were to comparative analysis for shrimp farming by comparing between monoculture farming and polyculture farming. The samples were major farmers who lived in moo. 10, Hua-Mueng Sub-district, Kampangsan District, Nakonpathom consisting of monoculture farming and polyculture farming. The questionnaire was conducted and used as a research instrument for data collection, descriptive analysis was also used for analysis data. The results found that cost and return analysis for monoculture shrimp farming comprising 38,602.37 baht per rai for fixed cost and 300,285.00 baht per rai for variable cost while having return 810,000.00 baht per rai. For polyculture white shrimp farming, the results show that consisting of 38,543.44 baht per rai for fixed cost and 238,885.00 baht per rai for variable cost while having return 812,500.00 baht per rai. Regarding financial rate of return of monoculture farming and polyculture farming found that Return on Investment: ROI with 84.81% and 92.56% respectively. The overall results of this study revealed that the return of polyculture farming was higher that monoculture farming.
