THE EFFECTS OF CIRC COOPERATIVE LEARNING SUPPLEMENTED WITH DR-TA READING INSTRUCTION ON THAI READING COMPREHENSION ABILITY AND ATTITUDE TOWARD THAI LEARNING OF GRADE 6 STUDENTS

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) compare Thai reading comprehension ability of Grade 6 students tween before and after learning of the cooperative learning supplemented with DR-TA reading instruction group and the normal learning group. 2) compare Thai reading comprehension ability and attitude toward Thai learning of Grade 6 students between the cooperative learning supplemented with DR-TA reading instruction group and the normal learning group. The samples were 70 students in the second semester of the academic year 2022. The samples randomized by cluster random sampling. The instruments consisted 1) eight lesson plans with cooperative using CIRC supplemented with DR-TA reading instruction on Thai reading comprehension, 2) eight lesson plans for the normal learning group, 3) a reading comprehension ability test for pre-test and post-test, and 4) an attitude test toward Thai learning of Grade 6 students. The data were analyzed by using mean (x̅), standard deviation (S.D.), percentage, t-test for a dependent sample and one-way manova
The findings were as follows:


  1. Grade 6 students who studied with cooperative learning supplemented with DR-TA reading instruction and normal learning group had reading comprehension ability and attitude toward Thai learning had higher posttest scores than pretest scores.

  2. Students who studied cooperative learning supplemented with DR-TA reading instruction had reading comprehension ability and attitude toward Thai learning had higher scores than normal learning group.
