Needs of People for Infrastructure Development In the Area of Chiang Wang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Phen District, Udon Thani Province

Abstract

This research aimed to study the level of needs for infrastructure development among people and to conduct comparison of infrastructure development needs among people in the area of Chiang Wang Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The sample group was 389 people residing in the area of Chiang Wang Subdistrict Administrative Organization and the Taro Yamane formula was used. The samples were selected with the application of stratified random sampling and accidental sampling. Data collection was conducted with a questionnaire on the level of infrastructure development needs among people. The statistics related to data analysis included percentage, average, and standard deviation. T-Test was used to determine significant differences. One-way ANOVA: F-test was utilized to analyze the variance of the data. 

        The results revealed overall level of needs for infrastructure development among people in the area of Chiang Wang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Phen District, Udon Thani Province, was the highest in the aspect of public electricity and water supply (𝑥̅ = 4.79), followed by the aspect of transportation routes (𝑥̅ = 4.77), broadcasting tower (𝑥̅ = 4.51), and the Internet network and related facilities (𝑥̅ = 4.12). Regarding the analysis of differences between independent and dependent variables, the overall results showed no significant differences at the statistical significance of 0.05. Therefore, this reflected the infrastructure development needs among people in the area of Chiang Wang Subdistrict Administrative Organization in all 5 aspects which were not varied.
