Abstract

This research aimed to study Chinese learning behavior through Chinese songs among students in the Chinese language major at Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University. The researcher divided the research method into 2 parts. 1) The researcher collected quantitative data. A multiple-choice questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data from 193 Chinese students. It consisted of general information questions, students' Chinese music listening behavior, and the benefits of listening to Chinese music. The mean was taken to analyze the data and select key informants. 2) The researcher collected the qualitative data. The interview form was used for in-depth interviews. From the 16 key informants, it consisted of questions about how to learn Chinese through Chinese songs. The benefits of listening to Chinese songs and the application of Chinese songs in other fields, then the data from the interviews were used for descriptive analysis.


 


The results showed that 82.38 percent of students listened to Chinese songs the most by listening through YouTube channels. When analyzing the benefits of listening to Chinese songs, it was found that Chinese students listened to Chinese songs to help them review Chinese vocabulary, prepare for the Chinese Proficiency Test, practice Chinese translation skills, and learn Chinese culture through songs and they can also be used as a learning material in the Chinese language.
