การตั้งชื่อโครงการหมู่บ้านจัดสรรในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่; Housing Estates Naming in Chiang Mai

Abstract

          The  study of  housing  estates  naming aims  to  investigate  the components  of  housing estates’ s names, their origin of languages,  and  semantic domains. The study examined 234 housing estate’s names from Home’s Buyer Guide Chiang Mai Magazine’s website (http://www.home.co.th/chiangmai).

          The  study  found  that in  terms  of  components , the  housing estate’s names have 2 main structures: single  structure and expanded  structure. The expanded structure have 8 sub–forms. Most of structures found in housing estate’s names are expanded structure. Expended structure is mostly found by the component of head referring village + proper name. The origin  of languages  that  are used   for  giving  housing  estate’ s  names is  from  Standard Thai and Northern Thai, and is  also borrowed  from  Pali , Sanskrit ,English  and  Khmer. English is the most commonly used language.

          There are 6 semantic domains for naming housing estates. The most  commonly  found domains  are  the domain of  geography and nature, the domain of fortune, the domain of asset , the domain  of  property ,  the  domain  of noble  status, and  the  domain  of  holy  things  respectively.

บทคัดย่อ

           การศึกษาการตั้งชื่อโครงการหมู่บ้านจัดสรรในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาชื่อโครงการหมู่บ้านจัดสรรด้านส่วนประกอบ  ภาษาที่นำมาใช้ตั้งชื่อ และวงความหมาย โดยศึกษาชื่อโครงการหมู่บ้านจัดสรรจากเว็บไซต์ของนิตยสาร Home Buyer’s Guide Chiang Mai (http://www.home.co.th/chiangmai ) จำนวน  234 รายชื่อ

            ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ในด้านส่วนประกอบ มี 2  โครงสร้างใหญ่ ได้แก่  โครงสร้างเดี่ยว  และโครงสร้างขยาย  ในด้านโครงสร้างขยายมีรูปแบบย่อย 8 รูปแบบ โดยโครงสร้างที่พบมากที่สุด คือ โครงสร้างขยาย   ส่วนโครงสร้างขยาย รูปแบบที่พบมากที่สุด คือ  ส่วนหลักที่บอกการเป็นหมู่บ้าน   +ชื่อเฉพาะ    ด้านที่มาของภาษาที่นำมาตั้งชื่อพบว่ามีการใช้การใช้คำไทย คำภาษาถิ่น  คำยืมจากภาษาบาลีสันสกฤต  ภาษาอังกฤษ  และภาษาเขมร มาตั้งชื่อโครงการหมู่บ้านจัดสรร โดยภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาที่นิยมนำมาตั้งชื่อมากที่สุด

            ส่วนด้านวงความหมายที่นำมาตั้งชื่อ มี 6 วงความหมาย   วงความหมายที่พบมากได้แก่  วงความหมายที่แสดงถึงสภาพแวดล้อมและธรรมชาติ  ต่อมาคือ วงความหมายที่แสดงถึงความเป็นสิริมงคล  วงความหมายที่แสดงถึงทรัพย์สิน วงความหมายที่แสดงถึงคุณสมบัติ วงความหมายที่แสดงถึงสถานภาพที่สูงส่งและวงความหมายที่แสดงถึงสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ตามลำดับ
