The Problems and Strategies of Interpretation Thai - Chinese in Court

The purpose of this study is to research the problems in court interpretation between Chinese and Thai language, using the method of Interviewing six persons with an in-depth interview, Then analyze the data with interpreting theory, To provide strategies and methods to solve the problem of court interpretation between Chinese and Thai language. The interview found the following problems in the court interpretation of Chinese and Thai language: (1) the ability to use the source language and the target language, (2) extract the important content of information, (3) organize and arrange sentences to express meaning, (4) cross-cultural communication, (5) professional ethics, and (6) other problems and suggestions.
Given the above problems, the author puts forward the following suggestions based on the research and interview findings, interpreters should: (1) have long term preparation to improve language skills, (2) extract the important information completely and correctly before translation, (3) have the public morality of helping others and avoid any behavior that will affect the justice of the court, (4) understand the cultural differences between China and Thailand, (5) have strong psychological quality and suitable personality, and (6) learn all aspects of knowledge and constantly update their knowledge reserves.
