THE ASSESSING POTENTIAL AND NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY SUPPORTING THE SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE IN NONG KHAI PROVINCE

Abstract

        The objectives of this research are to study the general potential conditions and needs for community potential development in the special economic zone in Nong Khai province in the form of quantitative research. The sample group consisted of 483 representatives of the community, obtained by means of selective selection.  The tools used in the research were divided into 2 categories: 1) a list of surveys or Check List and 2) Rating Scale Questionnaire had the confidence value. (Reliability) was 0.912.  The obtained data was analyzed with descriptive statistics (Description Method): Frequency and Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation with ready-made computer programs.

        The results of the research were as follows: The general potential of communities in the Special Economic Zone in Nong Khai province in overall was at a high level (70.27%).  Classifying by aspect, it was found that there was two aspects at the highest level, namely the community structure and community leaders and the management of the community; At a high level in 2 aspects namely the economy, the occupation in the community and infrastructure; At the moderate level was the tradition, culture and tourist attractions whereas social and social organization was at low level. In overall, the people in the area want to develop community capacity to support the Special Economic Zone in Nong Khai Province at a high level.  (=3.96)
