BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONAL ADJUSTMENT TRENDS AND FUNCTIONS OF HRD DEPARTMENTS IN THE NEXT NORMAL

The dynamic changes in the business environment, economic crises, business competition, the digital and innovative disruptions and even the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic are well exemplified within the uncertainty in worldwide business operations. The Business organizations who read the future trends and changes occurring in the next normal business environment were able to adapt both their strategies and their workforce. This qualitative research aims to study 1) the adaptation of business strategies of organizations in the next normal; 2) prime functions of the HRD Departments in supporting the development of organizations and workforce preparation for the next normal. The data collection technique in this research was a review of 15 online analytical articles investigating both business’ trends and directions of HRD work taking place from 2021. The selected articles were well published during 2020 and 2021 from reliable sources. The constant comparative method was the technique used for data analysis. This study reports 9 potential business organizational adjustments within the next normal organizations and found 13 additional functions the HRD Departments may perform to support the development of organizations and workforce preparation in the next normal.
