INTEGRATION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF SOCIAL WELFARE TO PROMOTE THE POLITICAL BEHAVIOR OF MEMBERS AND LOCAL EXECUTIVES IN CHALOEM PHRA KIAT DISTRICT, SARABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the level of political behavior of members and local executives in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province; 2) examine the relationship between the principles of social welfare and the political behavior of members and local executives in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province; and 3) present the integration of social welfare principles to promote the political behavior of members and local executives in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, utilizing quantitative research with a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The sample group consists of 397 individuals aged 18 years and older in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province. The statistical methods used for data analysis include frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, with hypothesis testing conducted using Pearson's correlation coefficient. Qualitative research involved in-depth interviews with 9 key informants, and the data was analyzed through descriptive content analysis.

          The results of the research found that 1) The level of political behavior of members and local executives in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province, is overall at a moderate level. The area with the highest average is the aspect of promoting prosperity for the local community, followed by the aspect of commitment and dedication to working for the people. The area with the lowest average is the aspect of management policies that respond to the needs of the people. 2) The relationship between the principles of social welfare and the political behavior of members and local executives in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province, is overall at a moderate level (R = 0.528), thus accepting the research hypothesis. 3) The integration of social welfare principles to promote the political behavior of members and local executives in Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province, includes: 1) the aspect of assistance, providing support to the underprivileged or those in distress; 2) the aspect of constructive dialogue, being open to criticism; 3) the aspect of ethical conduct, behaving in a way that benefits both oneself and others; 4) the aspect of appropriateness, knowing how to conduct oneself suitably according to one's status consistently.
