Model of Good Sangha’s Affair Administration and the Use of AI

Abstract

Modern monastic administration relies on the systematic integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to support its six core missions. This enhances management efficiency while maintaining and adapting Buddhist principles to the contemporary social context.
In governance, the focus is on AI Governance, integrating and analyzing data related to Buddhist doctrine and monastic law holistically. Intelligent databases are used to screen and verify the status of senior monks, supporting more accurate, transparent, and accountable decision-making within the monastic governing body. In education, Adaptive Learning AI plays a role in developing personalized learning systems for monks, novices, and lay Buddhists. It designs learning plans tailored to individual learners' capabilities, generates automated lesson plans, analyzes the workload of educational personnel, and systematically evaluates educational outcomes. In dissemination, the application of AI to analyze big data provides a deeper understanding of audience behavior. Furthermore, AI chatbots can answer basic Buddhist questions anytime, while intelligent multimedia creation tools can produce diverse teaching content in various languages ​​and media, making Buddhist dissemination more accessible and effective. In terms of public utilities, the implementation of the Smart Temple concept helps to upgrade the management of temple grounds, making them more organized and functional. This utilizes intelligent sensor systems for energy conservation, AI-powered security systems, and satellite or drone imagery for temple site planning, enabling efficient support of religious activities and public welfare.
