ONLINE TRADING FRAUD

Abstract

             This academic article aimed to study and analyze offences of online cheating and fraud. This can be seen in multimedia such as newspapers, TV programs, and digital channels every day.  Due to the growth of technology, trading is changing. For example, in the past, people shopped at physical stores or meet buyers/sellers in person. Nowadays, many shoppers are engaged in online trading, which means that they cannot see real products or meet their sellers in person. This has enabled criminals to conduct fraudulent acts using technology. Frauds are conducted both by sellers with non-existentent goods or by buyers with no intention to pay for the goods they have ordered. Therefore, this article is about cheating and fraud in online trading and the causes of the offenses from both sellers and buyers. The offenses include many types of criminal acts such as cheating and fraud, fabrication of false documents, computer-related crimes, etc.  If the government does not take timely action to solve these problems, they will soon affct the social and economic situations in the country. Recommndations are then provided for public benefit.
