MANAGING EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS TOWARDS EXCELLENCE BASED ON THE FOUR IDDHIPADA PRINCIPLES IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Abstract

This academic article explored the management of educational institutions towards excellence based on the Four Iddhipda principles in the 21st century. It discussed the management of educational institutions through processes and principles, comprising five steps: 1) Planning, 2) Organizing, 3) Commanding, 4) Coordinating, and 5) Controlling. To achieve excellence in managing educational institutions, administrators must possessed skills and competencies aligned with the demands of the 21st century. In terms of teaching, educators needed to exhibit distinct characteristics and adapted their roles from traditional teaching to that of 21st-century teachers. Additionally, there was a need for the development of learners to meet the quality standards and skills required in the 21st century, specifically the 3R8C skills. Moreover, administrators, teachers, and learners should apply the principles of Buddhist ethics, encompassing the Four Iddhipda principles: Chanda (satisfaction), Viriya (endeavor), Citta (dedication), and Vimas (reflection), in the management of educational institutions, teaching, and learning. Embracing these principles would lead to success and enable educational institutions to achieve excellence in the end.
