จีน-สยาม : ประวัติศาสตร์ความสัมพันธ์สมัยธนบุรีในเอกสารจดหมายเหตุจีน

Abstract

บทความนี้ต้องการศึกษาถึงประวัติศาสตร์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสยามและจีนในสมัยธนบุรี (2510-2325) โดยศึกษาจากเอกสารที่เกี่ยวข้องทางฝ่ายจีนเป็นหลัก ซึ่งพบว่าสมเด็จพระเจ้ากรุงธนบุรีทรงใช้ความพยายามอย่างมากตลอดรัชกาลของพระองค์เพื่อให้ราชสำนักจีนยอมรับในสถานภาพการเป็นกษัตริย์ของพระองค์ รวมถึงการรื้อฟื้นความสัมพันธ์กับจีนในรูปของ “รัฐบรรณาการ” ซึ่งความพยายามเหล่านี้เป็นการ “อ่อนน้อมถ่อมตนเพื่อผลประโยชน์ทางเศรษฐกิจ” มากกว่าการยอมรับในอำนาจทางการเมืองการปกครอง ซึ่งผลประโยชน์ที่กล่าวถึงนี้จะเกิดจากความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตที่เรียกว่า “บรรณาการ – จิ้มก้อง”

CHINA – SIAM : THONBURI’S THE HISTORY RELATION IN CHINA ARCHIVES

This article aims to investigate history relation between Siam and China during Thonburi era (2510-2325 B.E.), by researching mainly relevant documents on China archives. The findings revealed that Taksin the great, he made a great effort throughout his reign in order to being acknowledged as Siam king by China’s royal palace. Moreover, he managed to restore diplomatic relation with China in term of “Tributary State”, this effort could be more perceived as “the humble act for economic benefits” than being acknowledged in governing and political power itself in which given benefits derived from “the tribute” diplomatic relation.
