Choreographic creation contributes to the development and sustainability of the performing arts. When a choreography demonstrates strong aesthetic value, it can gain broader recognition, strengthen cultural identity, and promote communitybased cultural tourism. This study aimed to: (1) examine the cultural identity of Prasat Thong Community, Prasat Thong Sub-district, Khwao Sinarin District, Surin Province, Thailand; (2) create the Sri Dvaravati Swarapunya choreography; and (3) enhance public relations efforts to promote cultural tourism within the community. Data were collected through documentary analysis and fieldwork, including observations, interviews, focus group discussions, participation in community rituals, and workshops. A total of 100 participants were involved,
comprising 77 community informants, 10 key informants, 10 students, and three academic experts. The study employed a qualitative research approach using inductive and descriptive analysis. The findings reveal that the identity of Prasat Thong Community is rooted in its historical background, cultural heritage, and distinctive folk performances. These elements provide a strong foundation for the
development of new choreographic works. The Sri Dvaravati Swarapunya dance was intentionally designed to reflect the community’s cultural identity and way of life. The choreography integrates sacred symbolism with aesthetic movement, honoring local artistic traditions while fostering community pride. Beyond artistic creation, the study demonstrates that choreography can serve as an effective tool for promoting cultural tourism. The project contributes to local economic stimulation and supports the preservation and transmission of valuable cultural heritage.
