การแก้ปัญหาเชิงสร้างสรรค์เป็นทักษะการแสวงหาคำตอบที่หลากหลาย แปลกใหม่ ในการแก้ไข ปัญหาในสถานการณ์ที่จำกัด สามารถเลือกวิธีการแก้ปัญหาอย่างเหมาะสม มีเหตุมีผลสามารถอธิบาย กระบวนการแก้ปัญหาในแต่ละขั้นตอนได้ และสามารถอธิบายถึงผลกระทบจากการเลือกวิธีการแก้ไขปัญหา นั้นๆ ได้ ความสามารถในการแก้ปัญหาเชิงสร้างสรรค์เป็นทักษะที่สามารถฝึกฝน และพัฒนาให้เกิดขึ้นได้ กระบวนการแก้ปัญหาเชิงสร้างสรรค์ประกอบด้วย 5 ขั้นตอนหลัก คือ 1) การค้นหาความจริง 2) การค้นหา ปัญหา 3) การค้นหาความคิด 4) การค้นหาคำตอบ และ 5) การค้นหาคำตอบที่เป็นที่ยอมรับ
