Influences of Green Supply Chain Management Impacting Business Performance in the Agriculture Industry to Support the Developing Strategy for Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

               The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the level of business performance and green supply chain management in the agricultural industry of Khon Kaen Province; 2) to study influences of the green supply chain management factors that affect the business performance of the agricultural industry and logistics service providers in Khon Kaen Province and 3) to support the developing strategy for Khon Kaen Province. This research is a quantitative method. The sample consisted of 300 members of the company owner, production manager, or other department managers involved in the agriculture Industry and use sample random sampling of distribution of questionnaires. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis.

               The results showed that: 1) the levels of business performance and green supply chain management were rated at a high level; 2) the study using Pearson's correlation coefficient found that the four aspects of green supply chain management are positively correlated with business performance, with a 0.05 level of statistical significance, and all of which could predict firm performance by 96.10 % and 3) the strategies to enhance the performance of the agricultural industry require effective collaboration between government agencies and the private sector; these partnerships will drive eco-design, environmental conscious management and green procurement. The findings from the research are beneficial for entrepreneurs in the agricultural industry to develop and improve internal processes, thereby enhancing business performance. For the government sector, this research can serve as a guideline to support the developing strategy to enhance the efficiency of agricultural industry operations in Khon Kaen Province.
