Participation and Organizational Commitment of Employees at Synchrotron Light Research Institute

Abstract

The research on participation and organizational commitment of employees at Synchrotron Light Research Institute aimed 1) to study on the work participation of employees at Synchrotron Light Research Institute; 2) to study on the organizational commitment of employees at Synchrotron Light Research Institute; and 3) to study on the results of work participation and the organizational commitment toward the employees achievement at Synchrotron Light Research Institute. This research was the Mixed-Method research between the Quantitative and Qualitative research. The populations in this study were the employees of Synchrotron Light Research Institute. Samples used in the Quantitative research were 229 employees of Synchrotron Light Research Institute where samples used in the Qualitative research were 5 of top executives’ management of Synchrotron Light Research Institute. The research instruments were the questionnaire and the interview questions. Statistics applied for data analysis were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. It was found from the study results that 1) work participation of employees at Synchrotron Light Research Institute was at high level; 2) employees at Synchrotron Light Research Institute had high level of organizational commitment; and 3) work achievement of employees at Synchrotron Light Research Institute was found at high level. The factor affected on work achievement of employees at Synchrotron Light Research Institute was the organizational commitment where as the factor of work participation had no effect on the achievement in operation.
