Leadership of Non-profit Organizations Regarding Sexually-diverse Groups in Thailand

Abstract

ภาวะผู้นำThis article aims to 1) explore the leadership of non-profit organizations regarding sexually-diverse groups in Thailand, 2) compare the leadership of non-profit organizations regarding sexually-diverse groups classified via the organization sizes which are small, medium, and large organizations. Regarding research methodology, the qualitative research was conducted through the Case Studies method from 3 organizations by data collection from the documents study and analysis, the interview, and the observation. The key informants were; organization leaders and non-profit organization employees. In terms of sexually-diverse groups, the key informants were chosen via purposive sampling method. The research instruments were interview, tape recorder, note, and the researcher who collected and analyzed data through classification, distribution and categorization. The data enumeration was conducted from the responses which related to the leadership indicator and data similarity gaining from the informants. The results showed that the leadership of each non-profit organization was different. The large organization was Transformational Leadership whereas the medium organization was Consideration Leadership, and the small organization was Democratic Leadership. In terms of the research suggestion, each organization should build up the appropriate leadership model for its leader according to types of organization, structure, vision and mission including its culture and employees.
