The Effects of Socialization Tactics on Graduate Employability and Organizational Commitment Among Malaysian Newcomer Employees
Main Article Content
Abstract
Despite the growing interest in organizational socialization tactics, research on this topic remained in its infancy and required further in-depth study, particularly in Malaysia. Especially in the case of newly graduated newcomers. Current research aimed to study socialization tactics’ influence on graduates’ employability and organizational commitment among newly graduated newcomers in Malaysia. The data for this study were gathered from 401 Malaysian respondents with varied career backgrounds. The snowball sampling technique and convenience sampling were used for data collection. Through Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis via SPSS Version 26.0, socialization tactic dimensions were found to significantly predict graduate employability dimensions and organizational commitment (p < .01) except continuance commitment (p > .01). The current finding has added a fresh perspective on socializing tactic affects within Malaysian newly graduated newcomers’ settings. This was expected to be beneficial not only to Malaysian organizations but also to recently graduated newcomers themselves.
