The Journal of Population and Social Studies (JPSS) is pleased to announce its initiative to provide language editing scholarships to authors hailing from low- and lower-middle-income countries, effective 15 June 2021. These scholarships will cover up to 50% of the language editing fees and are exclusively applicable to authors who avail themselves of the copyediting service offered by JPSS. It is important to note that the number of scholarships available is limited, as they are contingent upon the availability of resources.

JPSS endeavors to extend crucial support to authors residing in low- and lower-middle-income countries, enabling them to publish significant contributions within the realm of population and social studies on a global scale.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the language editing scholarship, the following criteria must be met:

  1. Your paper must have received an "accepted for publication" status from JPSS.
  2. The first author must be a resident of a country classified as low or lower-middle income according to the World Bank country classifications. For an up-to-date list of such countries, please consult the World Bank database at the following link: https://data.worldbank.org/?locations=XN-XM.

Requirements:

To apply for a language editing scholarship, please submit the following documents to jpss.ipsr@gmail.com:

  1. A "Scholarship Request Letter" from the first author, which includes the authors' details and specifics regarding the accepted manuscript for publication.
  2. Proof of residency for the first author.

JPSS anticipates that these language editing scholarships will provide invaluable assistance to authors from low- and lower-middle-income countries, facilitating their scholarly endeavors in the field of population and social studies worldwide.
