Strategy in Thailand’s Natural Disaster Management

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the appropriate strategy for natural disaster management in Thailand and recommend the natural disaster management proposal for Thailand in the future. The crisis management and disaster management concept were analyzed and synthesized. The study revealed that the appropriate strategy should be proactive measure with clearly assessment that what natural disasters which Thailand have to face and how violence level of disasters. Moreover, stakeholders should be encouraged to be participated in the policies and strategies formulation for natural disaster management. Whether, they are disaster victims, policy makers and implementers. Especially, victims or communities should be encouraged to be capable for community based disaster management. In addition, recommendation is the strategy must be able to adapt to the crisis, focus on the Thailand’s inside and outside environment analysis and also scenario planning should be used to formulate strategies.
