Abstract

This research has the objective to study factors affecting the export of fresh durians from Thailand to the People's Republic of China in the short and long term; and to study the relationship between causal and dependent variables affecting the export of fresh durians from Thailand to the People's Republic of China. This study uses secondary data, Time Series Data, quarterly from the second quarter of 2002 to the second quarter of 2023, totaling of 85 quarters. By analyzing the multiple linear regression equation (Multiple Linear Regression Analysis), the coefficient of the equation is estimated using the ARDL (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) method, and the Bound Test statistic is used to determine relationship between in the long term. The results of the study found that factors which affect Thailand's export of fresh durians to the People's Republic of China in the short term are as follows. Firstly, the price of durians exported to the People's Republic of China and Gross domestic product of the People's Republic of China are in short-run equilibrium relationships with the volume of fresh durian export to the People's Republic of China in the opposite direction. Secondly, the exchange rate of Thai baht to US dollar relates to the volume of fresh durian export to the People's Republic of China in the same direction. However, the bound test results reveal the existence of a long-run relationship between the volume of fresh durian export to the People's Republic of China and the variables, with the relationship in the opposite direction as the exchange rate of Thai baht to US dollar and the price of durians exported to the People's Republic of China.
