Communication for Empowerment the Network of the Elderly in Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

          This research aimed to study the communication form and guidelines of the communication to empower the network of the eldery in Chiang Rai Province by using qualitative research. The results of the study were found that the communication of the network of the eldery in Chiang Rai Province could be divided into 3 forms: 1.) the informal communication in the level of the individual and the individual and the individual and the group, 2.) the semi-formal communication which was mostly found between the  individual and the group, and 3.) the formal communication which was in the level of group and group. The opinion reader of group was the key person who connected the communication of the network. Moreover, it was found that at present the new media such as the social media was used to be the communication channel of the network of the eldery in Chiang Rai Province. The guidelines of the communication to empower the network of the eldery in Chiang Rai Province in the future consisted of : 1.) the communication through the opinion reader by strengthening the potential of the community leader, 2.) the communication through organizing activity regularly, and 3.) the appropriate design of communication for each level.
