Community Participation in the Development of Media for Community Tourism

Abstract

This research has as its objectives the study and analysis of the community participatory communication process for the development of community media to develop community tourism for the Banjumrung Community Homestay group in NoenKho, Amphur Klaeng, Rayong province. Local community members comprised the community research team and data collectors. The research tools included in-depth interviews, informal interviews, focus group, observation and mapping community.


            The results of this research found that the participatory communication process to develop the Banjumrung Community Homestay tourism’s brochure comprised of the community members and related stakeholders focused on: 1) participation by person, which means those community members who joined the project are the research team and helped collect data, 2) participation by content, which means that the information the community gathered on tourism in order to produce brochure and 3) participation by process, which means community members participating in the media development process.
