Abstract
The Study on Routes, Activities, and Local People Potential for Agro-Tourism Management of Ban Nasan District, Suratthani Province
Ban Nasan District is located about 40 km south from the town of Suratthani . The best rambutan in the world orginates here as well as many other kinds of tasty and good quality fruit. In the past, many sectors in the district tried to promote this area as an inland tourist attraction, but gained little success because of local inadequacy in tourism understanding. This study undoubtedly shows that Ban Nasan has a high potential for Agro-tourism activity. The plantations are attractive, surrounded by beautiful and hilly scenery, and easy to visit. In addition, there are many other tourist attractions nearby, including natural attractions in a National Park, historic sites and community cultural activities. It is able to operate an Agro-tour program for a whole year because some kinds of fruit, such as Chokun Orange and Sala, are produced all year round. There are many activities and routes that tourists can choose, but a one day trip is suggested at present since accommodation on site is unavailable.
